The End
Hey there! It's been a while.
I've got a few announcements to make:
1.) If you paid for Better Questions in the last 60 days, I've refunded your money. It should hit your bank in a few days or so; and
2.) I'm going to stop writing Better Questions.
Writing this blog has been an incredibly valuable, fulfilling, mind-altering experience.
I've written thousands and thousands of words.
Thousands of people have read them.
I've learned a ton about myself, about how I work, about what I like and dislike.
It has, in short, been real.
But it's time for me to move on.
Why? A few reasons:
I'm working on something new, and feel like I need to reallocate my mental energy.
Better Questions requires upkeep. I need to write, I need to think, I need to dedicate a big chunk of my Mondays and Tuesdays to getting the pieces out the door.
While that's been gratifying and awesome, I've got something else that is demanding my full attention, and I only have so much attention to give.
I've got other projects that other people are paying for which I barely update.
I'm thinking here of the ENEMIES LIST Patreon. That's got a lot more paying customers than BQ does, but I barely post there!
While neither project is about money (BQ loses money, and Patreon helps to fund the band), I feel like I'm letting those folks down. Patreon subscribers deserve to get value for what they pitch in, and I need to spend more time making sure that happens.
What happens now? I have a few ideas:
1.) Join my Telegram channel. Whatever my next thing is, I'll announce it there.
2.) I'd like to collect the best BQ essays together, have them edited, and release them in ebook/PDF/web format for free. That'll live at this domain, whenever I get it done; in the meanwhile, I'll make sure the essays are accessible.
3.) Follow me on Twitter, as I remain active there despite...well, everything.
4.) I'll probably still post here occasionally in the transition period. Maybe we'll do a AMA? Who knows. Watch this space.
A final note: Thank you so, so much for reading. Writing this blog truly changed my life for the better, and I cannot thank you enough for making that possible. It's been my absolute pleasure.
Yours,
Dan
